This property offers 1,114 sq. ft. of living space, and features Granite counter-tops, custom cabinetry in the kitchen which is equipped with all your appliance needs including an adjacent laundry room with a washer and dryer and area for storage.  There are tile floors and ceiling fans throughout the condo and each room has air conditioning.  Cable TV and internet with Wi-Fi in living room. This 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom upscale apartment is in the building called Roca Marina, which is in the Vista Mar Golf & Beach Resort complex.  From the windows and balcony you will enjoy the spectacular ocean and mountain views.  It is in a gated community and is very safe and private.  You will find that many of the owners of the apartments come to their vacation home just a few times a year; so it is quite and you are not sharing the amenities with a crowd of other people like you would at a large resort … it makes for a nice get away.   We provide a local cell phone for you to use during your stay and we give you the phone number prior to your departure so that you can give it to friends and family to reach you if needed.

If you are a wine enthusiast, there is a wine cooler in the living room for chilling your wine to that perfect temperature for your lunch or dinner on the balcony.  If you want more action, it’s a 6 minute drive to Coronado where there are restaurant/bars and shopping.  There is a fish market that is a 5 minute walk on the beach to get fresh fish, langostinos and sometimes even lobster too!  The pricing for the “fresh” caught fish is very inexpensive and makes for a great lunch or dinner.

With this rental property we are pricing it as a standard apartment rental as a stand-alone with the beach resort package only or as an apartment rental beach resort package with a month (30 days) of unlimited golf for one or two people.  The apartment is priced for weekly or monthly rentals with or without the golf package.

Roca Marina is the closest set of apartment buildings to the ocean in the Vista Mar Resort complex, so you are within walking distance to the world class beach club resort, golf and restaurant.  You can see the Roca Marina apartment building in the back ground in the pictures taken on the 9th hole of the golf course and from the Beach Club beach area.

Our tropical beach villa is nestled in a lush tropical landscape for privacy and has a breath taking view from the private ocean facing front terrace.  There is a shared infinity pool right outside the front door and it’s just a 100 meter stroll around the corner down a dirt road to the beach.  It doesn’t get any better than this!

Overview of the property:  24 hour security gated community, Master bedroom suite and Dining/Kitchen areas have a ceiling fan and Air Conditioning, Swimming pool just outside the Villa, Washer and Dryer, Ocean view front terrace with lots of tropical landscaping and a table and chair for relaxing.  There is a private back terrace with a grill for cooking meals at your vacation home.  The villa has an onsite maid, care taker, free parking and is a 24 hour security gated community.

The kitchen has lots of kitchen tools so that you can cook in the room if you don’t want to go out to eat.  There is a microwave, coffee machine, toaster, plates, glasses and flatware.  We have some of the basic pantry items: sugar, salt, coffee, spices, oil, etc.

The Master bedroom has a king size bed, large Plasma TV with cable, nice sheets, pillows, a dresser for stoarge of your personal items and a closet.

The bathroom has towels, hair dryer, iron and soap.

Every room in this condo has amazing views.  The living room is clean and cozy, and has many books and magazines to read. High-speed wireless internet is also included in the rental price.  Enjoy eating your meals on the driftwood dining table on the balcony while looking out to the mountains and ocean.  The bedrooms have sliding screen doors and air conditioners to keep you comfortable.  There is a small flatscreen TV/DVD player in the master bedroom with a selection of DVD’s if you do not wish to bring your own.

Our kitchen is stocked with high end cookware for those of you who like to cook, as well as a charcoal grill on the balcony.  There is a fisherman’s cooperative on our beach that sells local fish, spiny lobster and langostinos the size of your hand right out of the ocean!  It doesn’t get any fresher than that!  A five minute drive to Coronado will take you to a 24 hour grocery store and access to numerous shops.

In my research and experience being in Panama this past year, there have been several things that have surprised me about Panama.

No, I haven’t “fallen off the turnip truck.”  I have met many other people who have been in Panama that have made these same discoveries.

Upon moving here, you will find out many of these things for yourself.  I just want to give you a head start, and let you know the ten things that have surprised me most about Panama.

1) Panama City - To my surprise, most of the movies at the theatres are in English, and they are as nice as the ones in my former hometown of Dallas, Texas.  The sidewalks are busy with people going places and doing things.  It’s like a small version of New York.  Casco Viejo is a thriving community now, but has architecture from several hundred years ago.  The combination of old and new is very fascinating.  It feels almost like any big city in the United States.

2) The Panamanians - They are not mad that we (North Americans) are here to live in or visit their country.  The locals are nice, and they welcome us to spend our money to help their economy!   Speaking Spanish isn’t required, although the locals appreciate our efforts of trying.  Spanish is Panama’s language, but they understand how difficult a new language can be to learn.  Just try!

3) Safety - Generally speaking it is very safe in Panama.  Like anywhere, you have to lock your car doors and prevent easy temptations for thieves. My 15 year old son rides his bike to and from school every day, you can comfortably shop at a grocery store or mall and ride the bus or taxi anywhere you need to go and feel safe.  It seems like Panamanians like the tourism and want to protect us from harm.

4) The Pacific Tide - When I read that the tide changes twice a day from 13 to 20 feet, I had no idea what that really meant.  Beaches can be huge or small depending on the tide, with the ocean hitting up against a sea wall or lapping as gentle waves on the beach a hundred yards out.  All within a few hours.

5) Drinking Water - The water is not only safe to drink, but it tastes good too!  In other countries it is easy to get sick just because your vegetables were washed in the water.  Safe water is easy to take for granted, but a huge factor in your daily life.

6) Healthy Living - Bottom line, being in Panama we “feel” great.  Most people have lost weight and sleep better than they did from their “home” area.  The good news is there are fewer preservatives in the meat and vegetables; however the bad news (if you call it that) is that the food spoils more quickly, so you have to eat it within a few days.

7) Nature - I have become a bird watcher, and I love to watch the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean … yes I said “sunrise”.  Panama is the only area in the world where you can see the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean.  Many of the beaches are salt and pepper with bright, black sand with the minerals coming from the sleeping volcano in El Valle.  The black sand is magnetic, and is fun to play with!

8 ) Technology - Our cable Internet is fast and surprisingly reliable.  Our mobile Internet is something that we purchase by the month (no long term contracts or ETF), and it allows us to be in business for a workday on the beach or at a Fonda (local lunch place).  We have become truly mobile and functional, and did I mention that Skype is my best friend?

9) Social Community - Whether you live here or are just visiting, there are so many people that you will meet in different stages of their journey that are great people to know.  We have made so many great friends from all over the world!  The social life for expats of all ages is alive and well in Panama.  Come by our happy hour every Wednesday to see what I mean!

10) Things to Do - In one day you can go white water rafting, zip line, hike in the mountains wearing a light weight jacket, surf in the ocean, suntan on the beach and meet up with great friends for dinner at a local restaurant to share the day’s adventures.  This country is incredible.
